Clueless, But On Schedule

Turns out building something is the best thing you can do with all that uncontrollable energy.

"Cher's main thrill in life is a makeover, okay? It gives her a sense of control in a world full of chaos." - Clueless, 1995

We've been thinking about that line a lot lately.

Six months ago, two girls with a combined case of ADHD — one of whom also has dyslexia and probably something else (TBD, pending further investigation) — sat down and decided to start a magazine. Not a newsletter. Not a blog. A magazine. With submissions, and editing, and a website we had to actually build, and self-imposed deadlines.

The idea came in November 2025, we published our first issue in February. We genuinely have no idea how we managed it.

A lot has changed since then, we’re both leaving Lisbon the city we met in. One of us is moving to Kyrgyzstan. The other is moving somewhere else too, though the exact location is still being negotiated with the universe. What we do know is that by the time the next issue is out, we'll both be somewhere entirely new, building different lives and definitely writing about it too. Which is very on brand for the founders of The Feral Globalista.

We've learnt a lot in these last few months. Fucked up a lot too, missed things, second-guessed things but somehow have managed to get both the first and second issue out on time. Which anyone with ADHD knows is a huge achievement.

The writing. The editing. The genuinely unglamorous work of getting a publication out into the world and hoping someone reads it. The Feral Globalista has been keeping us going in this world full of absolute chaos.  Turns out having something meaningful enough to make you actually want to be organized, even chaotically organized, gives you a sense of control you didn't know you were missing.

Cher found hers in the makeover. We found ours in this.

Welcome to Issue 2.
